KAA promotes health and well-being of students through offering multiple opportunities to participate in a variety of athletic sports. Students compete at middle school, junior varsity, and varsity level in volleyball, soccer, basketball, swimming, cross country, wrestling, and track and field in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) and in the Greater Piedmont Athletic Conference (GPAC). As a member of the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association (VISAA) and the Greater Piedmont Athletic Conference (GPAC), our athletic facilities allow students to participate in various sports. Our facilities include: a turf field, two grass fields, a 6-lane track, outdoor basketball courts, three gymnasiums, a weight room, a dance studio, an 8-lane swimming pool, and two athletic training rooms. Also, our athletic sports programs are recognized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). This allows our student athletes to be recruited by the NCAA Division I and Division II teams.
Athletics are a crucial component of our students’ academic success and their physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being. Sport opportunities at KAA help student-athletes recognize the value of physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, cooperation and social interaction.
